TX LEMON LAW REGISTRATION
Despite the purchase in Maryland, they are using the registration state (Texas) for the lemon law calculation. Odd to note, we had the car newly purchased in Maryland and shipped to Texas and registered here (closest location for the specs we wanted.uggh I hate the dealership model). We weren't asked to send in our paperwork again, so we are lucky with that. The still haven't given us an official price (we are just guess FYI) but that is supposed to come within 15-20 businesses days (don't totally believe that since they were supposed to come back with an offer in 10 business days about 20 business days ago and didn't have one) This at least is nice to know since technically our car doesn't fall under Texas Lemon Laws (they are just using the calculator).
TX LEMON LAW DOWNLOAD
My spouse was able to download a the lemon law calculator for Texas (I think she got it from this forum?) and while some factors were weird, it looks like our 2017 47k mile Bolt EV Premier will get us ~25k back (just FYI carmax is offering 18k, so it is more). They did also say they were going by the Texas Lemon law calculations as well to us. Since we only drive EVs and Chevy isn't selling any EVs currently, we asked for the check. Among other things, the form asks for the following informationyou can see why it's so important to keep diligent records: Type of warranty coverage. They said the money is the same regardless if we do a check or apply it to a new vehicle. The simplest way to file a Texas Lemon Law claim with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles is to fill out the official Online Lemon Law Complaint form. There is one person handling the Texas buybacks. Right now, due to the way this process has been going, we’re pretty sure we’re going right back to a 22 bolt. I’m just as surprised as you are, but I can’t fault anyone except the concierge person and I could tell she was reading the script like she was supposed to. I’m an adult, I realize this is not everyone’s experience, and 99% of your progress will depend on who you get to talk to that day, but so far Chevy has dealt with this exactly how owners hoped they would in my case. I’ll get more detailed after my buyback is done but (again I realize this is not the norm for everyone, I’m not ignoring that’s side of the aisle) but the dealership and Chevy Corp have been nice about this the entire time, not a raised voice even once (even from me) and if anything, they listened a bit more with a concerned angle than a combative one. The concierge service straight stonewalled me, kind of rude to be honest, but I spoke to the dealership and they kind of helped me out starting this. I have a ‘19 and no, no legal representation.
